We will always endeavour to use the most cost effective packaging medium that is suitable, and will produce a pack that takes up as little room as possible, enabling you to keep your transport cost to a minimum.
Protection comes from the ability to isolate the product from outside forces, this can be created by generating an air space and/or using a cushioning product such as foam to absorb the shock and spread the contact area.
An honest appraisal of the type of pack required will be given, in many instances we have been asked by the customer to supply fittings that in reality will do nothing to prevent damage, when questioned as to why they want the fittings the answer is usually “our old supplier did it that way, so that’s the way we have always done it”. We have several customers that have allowed us to put forward new packaging concepts that have minimised both the amount of spend and also vastly reduced the amount of storage space required as they are not stock holding unnecessary items.
